Construction work related to the reconstruction of the former PROJPRZEM MAKRUM office building has begun. The building, located in the very center of Bydgoszcz, will undergo a total metamorphosis, transforming into another Focus hotel. We present a photorelation documenting the start of this investment.

A three-star hotel would be located in a revitalized building at Bernardyńska 13, which previously served as the 10-story office building. The characteristic blue office building of Projprzem for 55 years of its existence has grown into the panorama of Bydgoszcz and the awareness of its residents. The building was erected according to the design of Witold Jańczak in 1964. From its inception, it housed the headquarters of Projprzem Makrum. In mid-December 2018, this company informed about the sale of real estate to a subsidiary of the IMMOBILE Group - Hotel 1 Sp. z o.o. In recent weeks, its last tenants - employees of one of the Group's companies, Projprzem Budownictwo - moved to the new headquarters of the entire Capital Group, located in the new office building IMMOBILE K3 at Plac Kościeleckich.

In the first phase of the reconstruction, the building is emptied of the remains of former tenants. A scaffolding is being built around the building, and construction crews assemble a cargo elevator. The first demolition works in the interiors are being carried out, which will undergo a total reconstruction to adapt into contemporary hotel standards. Electric, sanitary and fire-fighting installations will also be modified. The external works will focus on a completely new elevation with a lot of glazing.

The contract engineer in this investment will be the leader of the Group’s development segment – CDI Konsultanci Budowlani. Piotr Bartkowiak from the Architektonika studio from Bydgoszcz is the author of the reconstruction project.
