Will industrial construction support the economy after the crisis?
Data publikacji: 09.03.2021

The construction industry is to be the one that will become the flywheel to leverage the economy after the pandemic crisis. How does Dariusz Paprzycki, CEO of Projprzem Budownictwo - one of the leading companies in the industrial construction market, see these development prospects?

- You could feel the first rockfall in the last quarter of last year - says Dariusz Paprzycki. - There weren't really any tenders back then. Only now can we talk about the emergence of new topics. I want to believe in the Prime Minister's words that it is the construction industry that will "wake up" the entire economy.

Prestigious projects

Projprzem Budownictwo has been operating in the structure of the Immobile Group since 2017, belonging to the PJP Makrum Industrial Group. In the first months after the acquisition, the company targeted smaller contracts, in the order of 20-40 million. However, from the very beginning there were large investments that Projprzem has been successfully implementing for a long time.

- Currently, the two most important projects on which we are working are the construction of the "Perfumiarnia" estate in Poznań (contract value of nearly PLN 75 million) and the expansion of the gas compressor station in Odolanów (contact value of approximately PLN 85 million). Work in "Perfumiarnia" is currently at the garage stage, while earthworks, piling and foundation preparation are taking place in Odolanów, reveals Dariusz Paprzycki. - The most complex project in terms of technology, which we had the opportunity to implement, is also behind us, i.e. the expansion of the Bridgestone production plant in Poznań.

Perspectives

The revenues of the construction segment in the three quarters of 2020 (given in the quarterly report of Immobile Group) amounted to PLN 138.44 thousand. PLN versus PLN 48.57 thousand in three quarters of 2019. Thus, we can talk about an increase of + 185% year on year. What, according to the company's boss, is the recipe for success? - First of all, the right human resources structure as well as work, work and work again. Plus, of course, some 2% of happiness.

Currently, Projprzem Budownictwo is carrying out projects from three branches of the company: in Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Wrocław. At the beginning of April, it opens a new one, this time in Warsaw. - We are also planning further branches - says Dariusz Paprzycki.
